Data, Information, and the Environment workshop (2 day workshop. Apply by 4th April)

Please note: the submission deadline was originally 31 March but has been extended to 4 April to allow more time for applicants.

In collaboration with the Journal of Environmental Economics and Management, CAGE is delighted to announce a call for papers for a workshop on Data, Information, and the Environment to be held at the University of Warwick on 30 September – 1 October 2024.

In addition to research presentations, the workshop will include keynote addresses by Erica Myers (University of Calgary) and Shuang Zhang (Imperial College London) as well as mentorship sessions. After the workshop, presenters will be strongly encouraged to submit their revised papers to a Special Issue in the Journal of Environmental Economics and Management.

Authors are invited to submit empirical papers on the broad topic of Data, Information, and the Environment, including but not limited to economic studies of information interventions, targeting, or enforcement.

Abstracts or incomplete papers will not be considered. To encourage diversity and inclusion in the profession of environmental and resource economists, all submissions should include a female, female-identified, or non-binary presenting author.

After the workshop, participants will be provided instructions on how to submit their revised papers to JEEM for inclusion in the Special Issue. These papers will be subjected to JEEM's regular review process that, to the degree possible, will be expedited. All submission fees will be waived.

The Program Committee, consisting of Drs. Ludovica Gazze of the University of Warwick, Andrea LaNauze of the University of Deakin University, and Erica Myers of the University of Calgary, will select roughly eight papers for presentation based on their overall quality and potential impact on the field. Travel and lodging costs for two nights will be reimbursed for one presenter for each accepted paper.

The deadline for submissions is April 4, 2024. Authors will be notified of acceptance decisions by June 15, 2024.

Any questions about the workshop should be directed to the Program Committee.

Paper submissions and enquiries should be sent to cage.centre@warwick.ac.uk
